Frequently asked questions
Everything about our articulated, 3D-printed Critters — how they're made, how the colors work, and how to collect the whole crew.
About the Critters
What are Coastal Critters?
Coastal Critters are colorful, articulated 3D-printed characters designed to move, pose, collect and fidget with. Each Critter has its own name and personality.
Where are Coastal Critters made?
Our Critters are 3D printed on the Connecticut shoreline.
What are Coastal Critters made from?
Our launch Critters are 3D printed using PLA.
Do the Critters move?
Yes! Articulation is one of the things that makes Coastal Critters so much fun. Depending on the character, different sections of the body, tail, legs, wings or tentacles move.
Do Coastal Critters float?
They do! Our Critters float in water — something our customers discovered and quickly came to love.
Colors, ordering & collecting
What does “Surprise Me!” mean?
Feeling adventurous? Choose Surprise Me! 🎨 and we'll select a fun color or color combination for your Critter instead of the signature color pictured.
Your surprise Critter may look different from the product photography — that's part of the fun.
Will every Critter look exactly the same?
Because our Critters are individually 3D printed, minor differences in color, texture and visible layer lines can occur. These are normal characteristics of the 3D-printing process.
What ages are Coastal Critters for?
Coastal Critters are intended for ages 3+.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Can I collect all of them?
Absolutely. That's half the fun.
New Critters, colors and characters may be added over time, so keep checking back to see who's joined the crew.
Do you sell Coastal Critters wholesale?
Yes. Coastal Critter Co. works with select retail stores. Retailers interested in carrying Coastal Critters can contact us for wholesale information.
